Church Planting Wives--Encouragement for You

Many of you know that my husband and I are honored to be in the midst of a wonderful new church plant that the Lord has set before our path along with some dear friends. It has been such a road of blessing along this great journey-- I see God's hand at work in so many amazing ways and the fellowship that the Lord has provided has been so sweet!

Then I started to think about other church planting wives and how I was sure that many of them might be looking for some encouragement. That is when I found this wonderfully encouraging blog for church planters wives and women in ministry called Grace Covers Me: Leading and Living By Grace by Christine Hoover (a fellow church planting wife and contributor at Desiring God blog) and knew I needed to share it with you!

There is SO much over there, I don't even know where to begin! But take some time to look around and I know that something will speak to you over there. I am also looking forward to checking out her book that will be released sometime early next year by Moody Publishers:

(I will be posting more in the future on church planting, so if you are doing that or a pastors wife please leave a comment and share your thoughts and your blog.)

Are you a church planting/pastor's wife?

Are there any encouraging resources that you would like to share?

O' Church Arise

 Last Sunday we had a glorious day of fellowship and sang this at church. I love the lyrics...

O' Church Arise

O Church Arise and put your armour on
Hear the call of Christ our Captain
For now the weak can say that they are strong
In the strength that God has given
With shield of faith and belt of truth
We’ll stand against the devil’s lies
An army bold whose battle-cry is Love
Reaching out to those in darkness.

Our call to war to love the captive soul
But to rage against the captor
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole
We will fight with faith and valour
When faced with trials on every side
We know the outcome is secure
And Christ will have the prize for which He died
An inheritance of nations.

Come see the cross where love and mercy meet
As the Son of God is stricken
Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet
For the Conqueror has risen
And as the stone is rolled away
And Christ emerges from the grave
This victory march continues till the day
Every eye and heart shall see Him.

So Spirit come put strength in every stride
Give grace for every hurdle
That we may run with faith to win the prize
Of a servant good and faithful
As saints of old still line the way
Retelling triumphs of His grace
We hear their calls and hunger for the day
When with Christ we stand in glory.

I especially like what you see emboldened, the lyrics just touched my heart.

Hope you have a peaceful day of worship and rest!

I thought I would add this so you could actually hear how the song sounds, it is timely too as fall is around the corner! If you do listen to it--don't forget to turn off the playlist in the sidebar.

A Wise Man Once Said...

Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.

Make level paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.

Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

Do you know the Lord? If not, click here.

Need a church family? If so, click here.

Stay tuned...tomorrow we start this:

The Lord is Near to All Who Call on Him

I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.

Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.

Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.

One generation will commend your works to another;
they will tell of your mighty acts.

They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

They will tell of the power of your awesome works,
and I will proclaim your great deeds.

They will celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.

The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.

All you have made will praise you, O Lord;
your saints will extol you.

They will tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,

so that all men may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.

The Lord is faithful to all his promises
and loving toward all he has made.

The Lord upholds all those who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.

The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food at the proper time.

You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and loving toward all he has made.

The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.

He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.

The Lord watches over all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.

My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.
Let every creature praise his holy name
for ever and ever.

-Psalm 145

May the Lord bless you this Sunday! If you do not have a place to worship, come and visit us at New Hope Christian Fellowship, a place where you are family!

Sunday Reflections

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers,

But his delight is in the law of the Lord
and on his law he meditates day and night.

-Psalm 1:1-2

May we all meditate on the Word of God daily!  As I grow older I realize there is nothing more important than God's word and it truly does NOT come back void.

Do you have a church family? We are so blessed by ours--and would love for you to come and visit us!

Not sure how to begin your walk with God? Start here

 Have a blessed day!

Big Announcement--New Church Plant!

We waited...

For years and years...

And now we are so happy to see the dream become a reality!

We are excited to announce our new church plant---

Right now it is in the beginning stages, we have our core families, and we are so excited to see what the Lord is going to do! He is Mighty, He is Worthy, and may He be glorified through it all! Our heart is to see Christ exalted, families strengthened and discipled, and for the lost to be saved.

Last year I had written a post about finding churches and SO many of you responded saying how hard it was to find a church and how difficult it was to find like-minded fellowship for your families--so I gave a listing for the National Center of Family Integrated Churches, we are now officially on that list and want to reach out to you!

You can view New Hope's official website HERE.

We will add a blog to the site soon!

We are also having a major event on November 6th called the First Thanksgiving Celebration, that I would like to invite you to,  we will have

  • Hayrides
  • Wood splitting
  • Bonfire
  • Boffer Wars (for Boys)
  • English-country dancing (for Girls)
  • Highland Games (Caber and Rock Toss)
-and dress up like pilgrim and Indians (this is optional) and eat period food! You are welcome to join us and can confirm at our Facebook Event Page --if you think you can come please confirm on this page so we can have a head count as there are already several families attending!

We hope that if you are in the area that you would come visit us-- we are located in Northwest Indiana and only 30 minutes from Chicago. Here is a map.

New Hope also has an official Facebook Fan page  that you can follow to keep up with the latest happenings, announcements, and events of our new church.

I will share more details about the church in the future!

If you have any questions about the church we would be happy to answer them. You can leave a comment here or email us privately at newhopeindiana@gmail.com

We'd love to hear from you!

Have a blessed day!
