*The discount has now expired, but you can still get the book for just $7 as a PDF, or on your Kindle or Nook.*

Here is what people are saying about True Christian Motherhood:

"This ebook is a heartening work that will inspire you to follow the Lord, build your home on His truths, help you to develop a vision for beautiful womanhood, and how that will effect the culture of your home.

There are so many chapters that I thought, “Oh, this is my favorite chapter” and then I would read another chapter and think the same thing. So needless to say, I found the entire book a true joy. This book is timeless in it’s exhortation and would make a great gift for a new wife or mother, a wonderful guide to mentor another woman with, or to use as a bible study."

-Robin Brookshire, Resolved to Be

"I cannot begin to thank-you enough for writing this book. I have begun poring over its pages and find myself captivated by the wisdom and beauty of your writing. The chapters are short enough to accompany my personal devotions before my children wake up, and the questions give my heart something worthy to ponder during the day.

I just finished the chapter "The Exhausted Mom." That's me, at this season of my life! I was so convicted though when I read that half the battle is in our minds. My attitude towards the tiredness could definitely use an adjustment. I'll be working on that today! Thank-you again, from the bottom of my heart, for writing such a timely, beautiful work. You have already blessed me tremendously for the several months I've been reading your blog, but True Christian Womanhood just takes the cake."

-Jacinda, Growing Home

I started reading it and just could NOT put it down. This book is filled with SO much wisdom and conviction. What True Christian Motherhood gives is a full book of encouragement and a vision to what the 21st Century mom would look like.  I found the chapters bring conviction and butterflies to my stomach as I could feel the Lord working through me to step up and be this mom that God has called us to be and to teach others to embrace motherhood in a different way.

New Year Plans 2012

I always get excited around this time of year because I get to plan. I am a notorious planner by nature (even though I have mellowed over the years) and when the New Year comes around the gears kick in, pen and paper come out and I am dreaming of what next year could look like.

A Wise Woman Builds Her Home had an amazing year last year--we launched our first ebook, True Christian Motherhood which had made it to Amazon's bestseller list, we contributed to the hot newly released book, Queen of the Home: Essays, Poetry and Quotes on the Honor, Power and Nobility of Biblical Womanhood, now available at Vision Forum, we grew our blog consulting service Wise Woman Consulting, was asked to speak as a keynote at a blogging conference, we gained ownership of the popular blog, Raising Homemakers, a new church planted unfolded,  blog readership doubled, a TCM discussion group was launched of over 300 women who came together and learned about motherhood, and so much more. But *truly* the greatest experience has been being able to see lives transformed to His image. To see women encouraged and passing down a godly legacy, now THAT is what I love to see!

So what do I have on the agenda this year? I am sure you would love to see my notes--they are quite exciting I assure you. But the greatest thing on my list, I must say is that I want to spend more time in my home caring for my children.

What, you say, don't you already stay home and do that? Yes, I do, but my heart actually longs for more. I want more time with my children--reading books, playing games, teaching, engaging in heart to hearts, and all the glorious revelry that goes with it.

I remember as I was nearing the end of finishing all the work that went into True Christian Motherhood, it was a lifetime dream realized that I had waited 30 years to accomplish--to finally write a book! What did I find myself doing? I was staring out my window thinking about how much I was looking forward to just spending MORE time with my children after the book launch.

Times have changed and this momma is different. This momma wants a heavy dose of home, family life, legacy-leaving and CHRIST.  This is what I would like to see in 2012.

Yes, I have other big plans, but this will guide it all.

To God be the glory!

Pure Modesty and True Christian Motherhood Sale!***SALE EXTENDED ONE MORE DAY!***

I have a sweet friend named Stephanie, over at Pure Modesty, which is a wonderful blog that offers modest resources and encouragement:

She has recently reviewed my new ebook,
True Christian Motherhood,
and here is what she said:

"As a Christian wife, homeschooling, toddler-chasing mama to many and a baby due this spring, I have very little time to read books for my own enjoyment. However, when Mrs. Fuentes released her new e-book True Christian Motherhood, I made time! And I am so thankful I did!

True Christian Motherhood is filled with loving encouragement, helpful links, beautiful art work as well as Challenge Questions at the end of each chapter. She also has accompanying Scripture and quotes for each chapter I used for further study.

“A hundred years from now…it will not matter what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove
…but the world may be different
because I was important in the life of a child.”~Kathy Davis

One chapter in particular resonated deep in my heart and it starts with a simple question, “If Not You…Then Who?” There are a few heart stirring questions to ponder in this chapter such as, who will sing to your children? Who will teach your children the Gospel? If not you, then who? Mrs. Fuentes gives a startling and very real answer to these and other questions in this important chapter.

Have you ever considered what a Home Culture is? I haven’t. Not until now at least. I never thought to realize that the sounds and smells I create in my home would attribute to the memories I create for my family. Mrs. Fuentes goes even further in her chapter, “The Exquisite Home Culture.”  to ask the reader what the experience of your home is like. Are you making Christ the center of your home?

I only wish I had this book years ago to help me along and understand that there is joy and purpose in motherhood! I will encourage every one of you to purchase True Christian Motherhood for yourselves then think of the other women in your life who will be blessed by the words within the covers! With the holidays quickly approaching, True Christian Motherhood is one gift that will keep on giving! I recently printed my copy and had it bound for my daughters. What a simple and lovely gift to give to a special woman in your life! Perhaps a future gift for your daughter or as a baby gift for a soon-to-be new mother at your church!

I am so delighted that Mrs. Fuentes has graciously offered to give-away one copy of True Christian Motherhood to one of my dear readers!"

Yes, Stephanie is giving away a free copy so please
GO OVER to PURE MODESTY and enter there!

Also, we are having a big sale to celebrate the first day of November--

Announcing New Book: Queen of the Home {& Giveaway!}

I am SOOOOO pleased and excited to announce the release of the NEW book, Queen of the Home: Essays, Poetry and Quotes on the Honor, Power and Nobility of Biblical Womanhood, compiled by Jen McBride of Noble Womanhood, over at Vision Forum.

Here is a description of the book:

In past generations, the role of wife and mother was viewed as a sacred calling. The committed homemaker was seen as strong, capable, intelligent, and irreplaceable. She was regarded not only as a crucial part of the home, but as a foundational bulwark of society. She was considered worthy of great honor, appreciation, and respect. Though in recent years feminists have sought to demean this glorious calling, the Bible’s hopeful vision of noble womanhood is one worth reclaiming. Queen of the Home seeks to cast that vision afresh through godly encouragements from writers past and present. This inspiring collection of essays, poetry, and poignant vignettes paints a beautiful picture of what it means for a wife to be a crown to her husband, the monarch of the cradle, and queen of the home, and calls upon daughters to embrace their rewarding role and sacred calling as regal women of God.

WOW! Doesn't this book sound great? There's MORE--essays and or quotes included by the following:

Jennie Chancey
Stacy McDonald
Beall Phillips
Doug Phillips
Kelly Crawford
Becky Morecraft
Nancy Campbell
Karen Andreola
...and me!

Jen contacted me earlier this year about using some of my writings and I was honored to be asked--so this is the first time my writing will officially be published in a book! (Can you guess what all my friends are getting for Christmas?) Not only that but Jen has also included poetry, essays, etc. from inspiring writers from the past as well.

Here are some excerpts:

Although Feminism continues her barrage against Biblical womanhood, we must refuse to heed her lies anymore. Let us victoriously reclaim our thrones for the sake of our families, the advancement of Christs Kingdom, generations yet to come, and the glory of God." ~ From the Introduction by Jen McBride

"Refreshing and motivating, this book is exactly what every mom needs on her desk or nightstand for those moments during the day when we could use an energy boost! Jennifer's book contains my favorite passages of inspiration. Read and be encouraged!" ~ Beall Phillips (from the back cover)

"Queen of the Home reminds us of our birthright as women, and it is a rich and beautiful one. In the beginning, God set Adam and Eve as king and queen over creation. They were designed to complement one another. It wasn't good for man to be alone, as God Himself stated. Man needed woman to complete him as his perfect helper. Without woman, godly dominion simply could not take place. With his helper, Adam could tend and keep the garden, drawing on Eve's gifts and abilities and being fruitful as God commanded. The fall harmed that perfect union and distorted the mysterious and holy marriage relationship, but Christ's finished work on the cross redeems us from the fall and calls us back to co-laboring as husbands and wives, each with important roles to fulfill as we serve the Lord. In turn, our laboring together in harmony presents a picture of Christ and His bride, the Church. What a glorious calling!

Jennifer McBride has given us a powerful dose of inspiration and vision in this volume. I am thankful for her willingness to put it together, and I look forward to sharing it with family and friends. I pray you will be blessed as you enjoy these pages and meditate on the importance of the amazing, multi-faceted role God has given you. You are queen of your home! May your home reflect the glory and goodness of the God Who placed you there." ~ From the Foreword by Jennie Chancey

The chapter titles are as follows:

Noble Womanhood
The King's Daughters
Queen of the Home
Monarch of the Cradle
The Power of Parenthood

A Mother's Love Chapter

If I talk to my children about what is right and what is wrong, but I have not love, I am like a ringing doorbell or pots banging in the kitchen. And though I know what stages they will go through, and understanding their growing pains, and can answer all their questions about life, and believe myself to be a devoted mother, but I have not love, I have nothing.

If I give up the fulfillment of a career to make my children's lives better, and stay up all night sewing costumes or baking cookies at short notice, but grumble about lack of sleep, I have not love and accomplish nothing.

A loving mother is patient with her children's immaturity and kind even when they are not; a loving mother is not jealous of their youth nor does she hold it over their heads whenever she has sacrificed for them.

A loving mother believe in her children; she hopes in each one's individual ability to stand out as a light in a dark world; she endures every backache  and hearthache to accomplish that.

A loving mother never really dies. As for home-baked bread, it will be consumed and forgotten: as for spotless floors, they will soon gather dust and heel marks. As for children, right now toys, friends and food are all-important to them. But when they grow up, it will be their mother's love that they will remember and pass on to others. In that way, she will live on.

So care, training and a loving mother reside in a home, these three but the greatest of these is a loving mother.

Struggling Through Hardships and Link-up!

I recently announced that I was giving away three free copies of my new best selling ebook, True Christian Motherhood. I was *overwhelmed* with the amount of response that I received (so we will be giving out more than three), and must say that most of the emails I received had me in tears. The stories that poured in truly touched my heart and so I would like to share a few words.

I realize that many of you are struggling and going through such hardships right now---whether they be financial, physical, spiritual, etc., right now and I wanted to let you know that you are NOT alone. The Lord is with you with each and every step so be COURAGEOUS as you face the day.

I wanted to share this verse with you from my Bible reading time this morning:

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

This verse is very comforting and I pray that it will comfort you today also.

We are saying a prayer for each and every single one of you! God knows your struggles, your weaknesses and He will guide your way---even as you feel as though you are stumbling in the darkness. Even as you feel the pressure rising up so high that you feel you cannot tolerate it any longer. Even as give it your all,  yet still failing, just give up and weakly turn your eyes upon Him.

Remember, He is there and to PRAISE Him. Through my stormiest trials did He bring the most growth in my life, truly refinement that could not have taken place otherwise. I thank Him for those times because I know He had great love for me. And He does for you, too!

Also a few points of interest:

1. If you are looking for a powerful book on discipling your family--Family Driven Faith by Pastor Voddie Baucham is half off today and only $10 (sale ends at midnight).

2. Mama Chocolate is having a True Christian Motherhood giveaway--stop by and enter!

3. Read a prayer from our True Christian Motherhood Discussion group led by Jasmine. WOW! She is quite a prayer warrior and has been praying over us in the group. If you'd like to join its not too late! Just grab a copy and click here.

Now on a lighter note, I am having a link up today so please feel free to link-up and share your lovely posts with us on homemaking, motherhood, biblical womanhood, recipes, etc. I am sure that many would love to read an encouraging word from you!

If you link up here please use the image below to let others know that you have linked up here so that they might join in the fun and be encouraged as well:

Creating A Warm Atmosphere for Fall

Fall is upon us once again and how exciting it is to be alive and look forward to the new season that lies ahead. This is a wonderful time for mothers to create warm, loving and cozy space in their homes and bring a breath of fresh fall air into the atmosphere. I love creating memories with my children and making sure we try to get the most out of experiencing and celebrating the change of the seasons.

(fall leaf craft)

I have already done alot of shopping for the fall wardrobes and brought in what I had stored away in the garage. A good thing I did too because it has been cool and crisp, weather-wise over here and no sooner did we get the clothes we were already needing to wear them. All of you know that with a large family, dealing with wardrobe changes for the season is a major project. One of the things I liked to do in my earlier years was write out all that we had and needed and kept a running list in a notebook of all that we needed. This included everything from sweaters, skirts and pajamas to jackets, scarves and mittens. It would get confusing trying to remember who had what so I would take a shopping list of sizes and needs to the store so I wouldn't have to use too much brain power in regards to that and just be able to concentrate on shopping. Now I am older and able to have a "sixth sense" of what is needed and not so reliant on the lists as before.

Every year we usually have plans of getting out and going to festivals, etc. But this year I wanted to focus alot more on making memories at home. I love the ideas I have found over at Pinterest and new craft ideas:

(fall embroidery craft)

I have already pulled out the fall decor and placed pumpkins all around. I am not done yet, but love the lighting up my Scentsy candle and smelling the cinnamon/baked apple pie aromas simmering through the house. My children have grand memories of fall and for many it is their favorite season. I also like to indulge in some early Christmas music as I plug in some of those white Christmas lights around to make the house feel warm on overcast days and sipping on the first hot cocoa of the year.

I am also turning my attention to the special foods we can make this year-- creamy soups, hearty stews, pumpkin breads, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin scones, spicy chili, mouth watering smores and taffy apples...mmmm....so much to create and sooooooooooo little time! Don't you agree?

(taffy apples on sticks)

( simmering avocado chili)

(warm homemade apple pie)

(maple leaf butter)

Mothers help to create memories that will live fondly in the hearts of their children forever.

How about you?

What do *you* like to do to get ready for fall?

Also,
a big thank you goes out to all my readers--

True Christian Motherhood has climbed the ranks and was #1 last night on the best seller list.
Today it is #2 (it is updated hourly) but we are still rejoicing and giving God all the glory. It is #1 in Hot New Releases.

True Christian Motherhood Study, Amazon, and More

Dear Ladies,

I am amazed at what the Lord has done--I have stood back and watched Him do mighty things. From day one with my eBook, True Christian Motherhood, I have seen His hand open doors that only He could have opened, leaving me in tears at His power, providence and sovereignty.

I was even more stunned when I saw that we had made it to second place on Amazon's best selling list for our category.

I will step back and watch the Lord do amazing things with this ebook---it is all His and not mine. He absolutely gets all the glory for every single word and every single life touched by it. I could not serve a better or more awesome God (trying to hold back the tears).

So with that said, I want to also point you all in the direction of this incredible online community that has grown quickly to over 200 women around the world. We are gathering there and discussing our struggles, victories, and more on motherhood there. We will begin going through True Christian Motherhood officially on Monday, the 19th.  So if you would like to join us, grab a book and click here to join, there is much exciting discussion transpiring over there already.  My dear friend, Jasmine, at Far Above Rubies will be leading the group and I will be popping in and out to connect  with everyone. (Psssst...she just put up a review of my new ebook and is giving away two free copies! Sonya is too, at Becoming a Strong Woman of God.)

Now another thing that just floored me was that the giveaway drew over 1,200 entries!!!  That is the biggest giveaway I ever had on my blog, and I just wanted to give you all a ((((((big hug))))))) and thank you for your support. The giveaway ends today at midnight so get your extra entries in while you can! One winner will take it all home and I will announce who it is tomorrow!
