Raising Daughters with an Entreprenurial Spirit

For a long time I had felt there was  a barrier between me and what I thought a Proverbs 31 woman was.

I would read about her endeavors with sashes, the market place, and buying a vineyard with her earnings and would greatly ponder over it--feeling out of touch and wondering what my special niche would be and the right season to begin. I prayed and asked the Lord for wisdom.

But I can honestly say I  didn't think I had even one entrepreneurial bone in my body and amazingly He has been with me every step of the way. Now I love what I do! I can truly relate to those who felt really inept as where to start and how to take those first steps. It can be a scary step for some--one that requires courage.

That is why I wanted to share this article by Amy over at Raising Homemakers. It is titled:

It touches a nerve with me because of what I experienced and I feel it is so important to give daughters valuable lifelong tools and skills. I wish that I had more experience with this growing up.

Now we are also trying to encourage our daughters to learn how to earn income from home. They both assist me with the several business related details and involved in their own ventures as well.  Daughters are truly a blessing--and even if this is something they will not do later in life we can still provide them with valuable skills that will provide them confidence, helping them be a blessing to those around them and those in the future.

I hope you enjoy the article!

(Note--If you are new to the blog, within the last few years the Lord has given me the ability to start up a few entrepreneurial pursuits--from our blog consulting service (soon to be offering eBook consulting), to eBook writing, and now becoming an Independent Lilla Rose consultant-- all from the comfort of home. It has been a wonderful journey and blessing!)

Modeling Godliness to Our Daughters

“Are we models of purity to our daughters?

Are we making godly womanhood attractive to them,

something they want for themselves?"

Today I am over at Raising Homemakers discussing:

Simplifying Christmas Gifts and Ideas

Many of you want to simplify Christmas this year and  that means making something homemade, homespun and from the heart. Some of you are just so crafty that you would not dream of a Christmas that did not have something that you created with your own hands. Today I am going to share some simple gift giving that we can do from our homes that have a special personal touch to them.

Homemade vanilla, cocoa, cookies...

and don't forget the fudge in ornament tins...

Love this Ice cream Sundae kit below! So easy, even I can do it!

Family Movie Night in a bag or you could even do a basket with popcorn and goodies.

For a little girl you could sew up a tea party with homemade napkins, placemats, tablecloth, etc.

Or if you have a bookcase, why not just make a dollhouse?

I also like this teacup idea---seems very simple and elegant.

You can find all these great ideas and their tutorial backlinks over at my
Homemade Christmas Pinterest board!

Also, for those of you who are NOT crafty or too busy and need some *real* ideas, here are some helpful links:

Some Pretties For Your Home

As homemakers we are always looking for ways to beautify our space. We want it to be a place that warmly welcomes family and guests. We also desire to minister to those we love and care for with God's Word. Scripture does not need to be limited to wall art in the home but can also be displayed in beautiful serving ware.

Promoting life and home, introducing the gorgeous and hospitable

Breath-takingly beautiful breakfast plates!

I have come that they might have Life, and have it to the full. John 10:10

What a wonderful way to celebrate life--with cherished family, friends and food.

A bowl full of soup to warm our souls and heart-to-heart conversation.

Tea towels for a very special occasion...

Coffee with friends....

and a word filled with hope....

Aprons that share God's heart...

And one for little homemaking hands that are learning too...

Together in unity---a feasting platter of love!

Fill your home with the beautiful things you love as you celebrate life and share His glory!
