For a long time I had felt there was a barrier between me and what I thought a Proverbs 31 woman was.
I would read about her endeavors with sashes, the market place, and buying a vineyard with her earnings and would greatly ponder over it--feeling out of touch and wondering what my special niche would be and the right season to begin. I prayed and asked the Lord for wisdom.
But I can honestly say I didn't think I had even one entrepreneurial bone in my body and amazingly He has been with me every step of the way. Now I love what I do! I can truly relate to those who felt really inept as where to start and how to take those first steps. It can be a scary step for some--one that requires courage.
That is why I wanted to share this article by Amy over at Raising Homemakers. It is titled:
It touches a nerve with me because of what I experienced and I feel it is so important to give daughters valuable lifelong tools and skills. I wish that I had more experience with this growing up.
Now we are also trying to encourage our daughters to learn how to earn income from home. They both assist me with the several business related details and involved in their own ventures as well. Daughters are truly a blessing--and even if this is something they will not do later in life we can still provide them with valuable skills that will provide them confidence, helping them be a blessing to those around them and those in the future.
I hope you enjoy the article!
(Note--If you are new to the blog, within the last few years the Lord has given me the ability to start up a few entrepreneurial pursuits--from our blog consulting service (soon to be offering eBook consulting), to eBook writing, and now becoming an Independent Lilla Rose consultant-- all from the comfort of home. It has been a wonderful journey and blessing!)
