Awhile back I had gotten into the habit of using beautiful teacups with my morning coffee. I was so sad when my favorite chintz teacup broke, but tried to be optimistic---it meant I had a reason to buy MORE teacups!
When I stumbled across these, I couldn't resist. They were lovely with all my favorite elements--roses, chintz pattern and the color pink! I was so happy to have found them--they are large in size and just help me to start the day off right...
They came in a beautiful box pictured below and satin cloth, that is wonderful for storing them if needed. Here are my teacups posing with my pink pearls that my husband bought me a few years back as a birthday gift.
My daughter, Naomi, took these photos (Naomi Elizabeth Photography). She has quite a knack for photography and finding the beauty in everyday things. One time she took close up shots tulips leaves (yes, just the leaves) and it just looked amazing--like art!
These photos were taken on my deck and capture our redbud tree making its welcoming appearance for spring in the background.
Yesterday I had posted the shot above this one for my Facebook timeline cover and several people wanted to know where I got them from so I promised to blog about it. You can get these charming tea prettiesat Amazon by clicking HERE.
These make a great gift for mother's, sisters, and daughters alike! The above image is from Amazon and the set is called: Gracie China Rose Chintz Porcelain Teacups and Saucers(8 oz.). THEY ARE ON SALE NOW -you can save $10!!!!
Hope you enjoyed viewing my favorite teacups!

In honor of National Tea Month, as promised we are having a week of posts full of tea inspiration. Today I am taking a look at decorating with teacups and have found some inspiring ideas over at Pinterest. These first few photos are my favorite I love the idea of a teacup chandelier:
This is truly breathtaking...I think if I saw this in person I would just stare at it for a long time! During the holidays I like to deck mine out with ornaments but it looks no where as impressing as this one.
Pearls, teacups and pink are always a favorite and would even look cute in a girls bedroom.
We have all heard of tea candles, but this picture shows tea candle lights! I love how it can be pretty AND safe if you have lots of little children around and still add a glowing ambiance.
Or use one for a pretty display of jewelry on a dresser--
or in one!
Stately on a buffet...
or even dangling from a tree!
(Don't forget, you can find all the links over at my Pinterest board.)
Also, if you need a good book to learn about tea try this one:
I have been admiring these lovely Gracie China Rose Chintz teacups for awhile now (hmmm...I wonder if they will fit on my chandelier) and will probably pick up a set of these soon. You can find these and more here.
Hope you enjoyed the inspiration!

I love teas and just love sharing lovely tea parties with you here on the blog, and to celebrate National Tea Month in January we are going to have a week of tea themed posts AND get a chance to kick it off with a priceless look at a beautiful 1800's birthday tea party! Isn't that just so exciting? Indeed! So here we go...
The first thing you need to know is that all the credit goes to Muriel Hedgcock. She created this lovely event for her daughter and here is what she had to say:
"We enjoyed planning and working together as a mother and daughter team preparing for my daughter's 18th Birthday High Tea. To add to the decor we each did a painting.Caitie painted an 1800's style self-portrait for fun, and I did the backdrop of a window scene of an English rose garden. We made place cards and attempted making sugar roses for the first time. It gave us a lovely mother and daughter time of fun & challenge. Our guests all came dressed up for the occasion and brought beautiful poems, songs and musical pieces to share with us. We all joined in the regency dancing my daughter had prepared, which added to a delightful afternoon that will be a most memorable one."
This was my daughter's Birthday address:
This 18th birthday tea party has an 1800s theme, and this is not only for a chance to dress up and do things that are very different to usual. The 1800s was a time that had its problems, but it was also a time in which the differences between ladylike behaviour and unladylike behaviour, propriety and impropriety, politeness and bad manners, and a gentle, quiet spirit and a loud and rebellious attitude, were clearly defined in strong contrasts.
We have in the world today a crisis of femininity, modesty, and propriety. This party was meant to be an opportunity to display these virtues.
1 Pet. 3:3,4 reads, “Do not let your adornment be merely outward – arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel – rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”
Prov. 31:30, “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.”
I hope you all thoroughly enjoy this high tea, and we pray that it will be a great blessing to all of you.
(Absolutely stunning!)
Wow--Muriel, thank you so much for allowing us to to view and share the beauty of this day. All the time, hard work, and effort was well invested in your relationship in growing memories with your precious daughter.
We are sure this is one birthday that she will never forget!

My friend, Stacy McDonald, is once again hosting her annual Family Reformation Ladies Tea for 2011!
We had such a great time visiting with them in the past. There was wonderful food, beautiful tables (my favorite is pictured above), excellent speakers...
...and elegant entertainment!
The theme this year is Idols of the Heart: Learning to Worship God Alone.
We are also excited to share that this year Wise Woman Consulting will be giving away a free consultation on how to make money from your blog as one of their many wonderful door prizes!

Summer is a wonderful time to get together in lovely weather and catch up with some close friends...
What a great reason to throw a Summer Tea Party!
It can be large or intimate--- you pick what would work best for you....
How to Throw a Summer Tea Party:
1. Make invitations and invite all your friends. A summer tea party calls for light attire and perhaps a sun hat (tell everyone to bring one and you will draw a prize to a winner). These days you could even create a Facebook fanpage and have all the ladies confirm there.
2. Create a menu--make it something light without heavy sauces that might spoil in the sun. Cheese, crackers, nuts, fruits and salads, cookies, tarts, scones, and teacakes are good. Here is a sample menu. You will want to make iced tea instead of hot tea and also have some extra chilled drinks on the side such as water, juice, pop, etc. Have fun with your drinks and add frozen fruit to it to use as ice cubes (strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapple chunks, are good for this. Use lemon slices and mint from the garden for garnish.
3. Prepare your party area. Try to set up your table in a cool spot under a tree or use a canopy for shade. Clean all lawn furniture and make sure the yard is clean of debris. Prepare the tableware--it's okay to use mismatched cups and plates, it adds to the charm. Also, consider laying out blankets on the lawn to make a restful conversation spot to gaze at stars.
4. Decorate simply and beautifully. If you have potted flowers you can bring them near the party table area and use garden cuttings for the centerpiece. You might also need citronella candles-- be sure to find some pretty ones.
5. Don't forget music! You could play some light classical music in the background or have a friend's daughter or son play a soft instrument. My daughter did that once at a friend's tea party, she played her violin as everyone walked in and it really adds a special touch.
6. Bring on the tea party games! There are so many---do a Google search and find your favorite.
Have fun celebrating and enjoy yourself!

This past week was Spring Break for the Fuentes family and we have been away on vacation! We have returned happily refreshed and I have many wonderful photos to share with you-- our vacation kicked off with a tea party for my niece in Chicago:
The lovely birthday girl table...
Island of goodies--aren't they pretty?
And they tasted amazing!
Chocolate dipped strawberries and American girl shortbread cookies!
Happy faces eagerly anticipating the tea...
The place settings were sweet...
The table of older tea partying daughters....
There were plenty of games, races, etc. Here is my little Joy all dressed up in a colonial dress that Janai, my oldest daughter hand made for her for another occasion (more on that later) passing a Tea Book in hot potato fashion. They had so much fun and she would not stop laughing!
All the girls in a circle and see my beautiful mother-in-law in the background?
The craft table had keepsakes boxes ready for decorating... (hmm--I think I need to lighten these pictures up but my virtual assistant, Naomi, is fast asleep so it will have to wait!)
The excited girls carefully decorating their treasures...
Beautiful girlhood in all her glory!
A sweet group picture---aren't they adorable?
The Grand finale--presents and a beautiful heart shaped cake made with love!
Thank you for viewing our tea party pictures!
And since so many of you have written me sharing how you would love to throw your first tea party for your daughter (or yourself!) but not sure where to begin I've included some resources for you...
